What is a Package Delivery Scam scam?

A message claims a parcel is stuck at customs or awaiting redelivery and asks for a small payment or personal details via a link — commonly a phishing page, not a real courier.

Red flags to watch for

  • A delivery notice references a courier you don't remember expecting a package from.
  • The link asks for a small payment or your address and card details to "reschedule."
  • The tracking number, if you search it directly on the courier's real site, doesn't exist.
  • The message is a generic "your parcel" with no order number, sender name, or product.

What to do

Go to the courier's real website and enter the tracking number directly -- don't use the link in the message. If you weren't expecting a delivery, treat the notice as fake by default.
