A recruiter contacts you unprompted with a high-paying, low-effort job, then asks for an upfront "registration" or "training" fee, or for banking details, before any real interview happens.

## Red flags to watch for

- The recruiter reached out first, on WhatsApp, for a role you never applied to.
- Pay sounds high for the effort described, and the "interview" is a chat, not a call.
- You are asked to pay for training, a starter kit, or "registration" before working a single day.
- The company has no verifiable website, or the site was registered within the last few months.

## What to do

Stop responding once a fee is mentioned. Verify the company through its own official site and a search for its name plus "scam" -- not through any link the recruiter sent. Never pay to get hired, and never share ID or banking details before a verified, in-person or verified-video interview.
